Questions? Answers!
Why do I need to hire a designer?
Design directly represents you. It's the art of making people notice you, clearly telling them what you do and directing them in how to feel about you.

Look around at the most successful businesses. They all hire designers. Some hire their own personal in-house designer, some hire design companies, and some will find a freelancer. They don't hire their nephew with no experience, purchase a standard template from some website, or decide to do it themselves. Successful entrepreneurs don't underestimate the powerful psychology and work that goes into design. Customers can tell when your look is half-hearted, and that directly reflects onto your company.

Simply, a quality designer will take your ideas and present them in a professional, organized and attractive way.

How much will my project cost? How long will my project take?
We get these questions often and we'd love to answer them for you immediately. Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible for us to guess an amount and a length of time before getting the proper information. Afterall, every project is different.

At minimium, most projects take at least four weeks to be completed once we begin. This is so we can accurately plan the best course of action and deliver quality results to you, our customer.

As for prices, keep in mind that we are not a cheap design company. Cheap design companies make cheap looking designs. We make quality designs and therefore, are reasonabily priced and consistant with design industry standards.

To accurately price a new project take into account:

  • What specifically you need. - Logos, full branding, website, etc.

  • How soon you need it. - Rush fees may be included.

  • How many hours it will take.

  • Your budget. - We take into account what you're looking to spend and work with you.

  • Where the designs will be used. - Posters, web, packaging, etc.

Once a price is agreed upon, we ask for 50% upfront, 25% at the half way milestone (defined by the contract) and 25% at the end of the project.

Also, remember, if you own your own business, you design costs may be tax deductable!

What goes into the design process?
Well, more than most people would think! But, to give you an idea, the process usually consists of the following steps:

  • First, we work with the you to decide on what the design wants to represent and feel like.

  • Next, we sketch out the layout and present it to you. We believe in a one layout approach because as design consultants, we want to be able to take your needs and create one strong look. We simply refuse to give you anything but the best.

While sketching the look of a design, we like to keep in mind what will grab the potential customer's eye and how to get them to keep reading long enough to direct them to the call of action--if there is one.

  • From there, color schemes are usually compiled, keeping in mind the psychology of color theory and any preferences the you might have.

  • Usually simultaneously while working on the color scheme, various typefaces are suggested and tried to match the overall mission of the project.

  • Once we've hammered out all the kinks, we start passing along first drafts for what may become the final product hoping to meet your approval.

  • Then finally, once everything is said and done, and all parties are happy with the final product, we do a little dance and go out for some celebratory sushi.

We can only speak on our OWN design process. Actual results may vary.

What should I expect after hiring you?
Well, every project is different so individual results may vary. Generally speaking, our process is something like this.

  • First consultation through face-to-face, e-mail, Skype or phone. We ask questions to get an idea of what you're looking for.

  • A price estimate is decided upon.

  • A contract is made out, including an estimated timeline, to make sure everyone is on the same page and to make sure everyone is getting a fair deal.

  • The promised number of wireframes and/or concepts and color schemes are created, keeping the feel of the product in mind, and offered to you.

  • You are entitled to unlimited revisions to concepts and colors, until everything is decided upon.

  • Once you agree to a mock-up, the process continues on, adding typography, images, or photography, if necessary.

  • You are informed as every milestone is completed to make sure you're still on track with what's going on.
